Frequently Asked Questions

Understanding fertility treatment can be overwhelming. We’ve answered the most common questions to help you start your journey with confidence.

The Basics

When should we consult a fertility specialist?
We generally recommend seeing a specialist if you are under 35 and have been trying to conceive for one year without success. If you are over 35, we recommend visiting after six months. If you have known issues like irregular periods, PCOS, or past pelvic surgeries, you should visit immediately.
What documents should I bring to my first visit?
Please bring any previous medical records, blood test results, HSG x-rays, semen analysis reports, and details of any past fertility treatments. This helps us avoid repeating unnecessary tests.
Does age affect my chances of success?
Yes, age is a significant factor in female fertility as egg quality and ovarian reserves decline with age. However, with advanced technologies like Ovarian Rejuvenation, laser-assisted hatching, and PGT-A screening, we can significantly improve outcomes for women over 35.
How long does the initial diagnosis take?
Most basic diagnostic tests (blood work, ultrasound, semen analysis) can be completed in a single day at our Jaipur centre. Specific genetic tests (karyotyping, PGT) may take 1-2 weeks for laboratory results.

IVF & Procedures

What is the difference between IUI and IVF?
IUI (Intrauterine Insemination) places concentrated, washed sperm directly into the uterus at ovulation. IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) involves retrieving mature eggs and fertilizing them with sperm in an advanced embryology cleanroom, after which the healthiest blastocyst is transferred to the uterus.
Is the IVF process painful?
Most patients describe the process as uncomfortable rather than painful. The hormone injections use ultra-fine needles. The egg retrieval procedure is performed under short sedation/anesthesia, so you will feel zero pain during collection.
How long does one cycle of IVF take?
A typical IVF cycle takes about 4 to 6 weeks from the beginning of ovarian stimulation through egg collection, embryo development, transfer, and the confirmation pregnancy blood test.
What is ICSI?
ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) is a specialized micromanipulation technique where a single, healthy, motile sperm is directly injected into an egg. It is extraordinarily effective for severe male factor infertility, low counts, or poor motility.
Can I choose the gender of my baby?
No. Sex selection is strictly illegal in India under the PC-PNDT Act. Kindle Womb strictly adheres to Indian law and does not perform or support gender selection.

Male Fertility

I have zero sperm count (Azoospermia). Can I still be a father?
Yes. Even if there is zero sperm in the ejaculate, sperm is frequently still produced in the testicles. We use micro-surgical retrieval methods like PESA, TESA, MESA, or Micro-TESE to retrieve viable sperm for ICSI.
What causes sperm DNA fragmentation?
Causes include oxidative stress, smoking, varicocele, infections, environmental toxins, and advanced paternal age. High DNA fragmentation can lead to poor embryo development or recurrent miscarriage, which is why we test for it using DFI tests.
How does Microfluidics improve sperm selection?
Microfluidics is a gentle, chemical-free sperm sorting technology that mimics natural selection in the female reproductive tract. It isolates sperm with pristine DNA integrity without causing centrifugation damage.

Advanced Tech

What is Ovarian Rejuvenation?
It is a regenerative therapy using Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) or BMDC therapy delivered into ovarian tissue to stimulate dormant follicles. It helps women with diminished ovarian reserve or premature menopause produce their own genetic eggs.
Who needs Laser Assisted Hatching?
We recommend laser hatching for women over 35, couples with previous IVF implantation failures, or when transferring frozen-thawed embryos whose outer shell (zona pellucida) has hardened.
What is PGT-A screening?
PGT-A (Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidies) evaluates embryos for the correct number of chromosomes before transfer, drastically reducing miscarriage risk and boosting implantation success per transfer.

Costs & Legal

What is the cost of IVF treatment?
The cost depends on the specific personalized protocol (IUI, standard IVF, ICSI, Donor IVF), required medication dosages, and advanced procedures (such as Laser Hatching or PGT-A). We provide a transparent, 100% itemized cost breakdown during your initial consultation with zero hidden fees.
Do you offer EMI or financial assistance?
Yes. We have partnered with leading healthcare finance institutions to provide convenient 0% interest EMI options to make fertility care accessible and stress-free.
Is donor information kept confidential?
Absolutely. We strictly adhere to the Indian ART (Regulation) Act 2021 and ICMR guidelines regarding complete anonymity and legal protections for both donors and intended parents.
What happens to extra embryos?
Surplus high-grade embryos can be frozen (cryopreserved) in our liquid nitrogen gamete bank for future sibling attempts or later transfers without undergoing full stimulation again.

Lifestyle & Recovery

Do I need to take complete bed rest after embryo transfer?
No. Evidence-based clinical studies demonstrate that prolonged bed rest does not improve implantation rates. We advise resting on the transfer day, after which you may resume normal daily non-strenuous routines and work.
Are IVF babies as healthy as naturally conceived babies?
Yes. Worldwide data spanning over 10 million IVF children shows that babies born through assisted reproduction are just as healthy, developmentally normal, and thriving as naturally conceived children.
